Thanks guys for the input. I put a lot of store in the info on SAABnet and. in general the consensus is that transmission oils are "not for life". However, the info here seems to point me to not tackle this particular transmission (it has 60,000 miles) until perhaps 120,000 ?
Spark plugs are also an issue because they seem so difficult to change. My indi says "Do Not worry about the plugs- GM guarantees them to 75,000 miles"
I hate not to do preventive maintenance because it is difficult to do - seem like a slipery slope !!
My vehicles,
1987 900 Convertible with 60.000 mile (summer only)
1999 9,3 145,000 miles (in ice,snow and salt)
2006 Aero combi - new to me this week
