Along the same line.
What I have seen lately on the early sport sedan using the three prong low beam bulb sockets.
Sometimes someone has forced the bulb socket into the headlight structure jamming the three prongs in the wrong positions. This has over time slowly bent the three aluminum tabs in headlight reflector outwards just by metal fatigue and when you try to fit a new bulb in the right way, the metal tabs are too far apart to ever catch the bulb socket tabs again and a new complete headlight is needed.
I tried ones to carefully squeeze the aluminum tabs together but they broke right away since it is only pot metal.
The new headlights have a better design and I think from about 05 or 06, they were installed from factory.
