I drilled two holes about 1 inch apart through the face of the emblem. Use 1/4 or 5/16 bit, make sure it is sharp so you can cut without much pressure. Go slow so you don't bottom out on the metal underneath. There is air gap between the plastic and metal body panel. You can choose your hole location by looking at your new badge's pin locations (I think there were 3 pins), and avoiding drilling where the pins are.
Once you have the holes in there, you can slip some needle nose pliers in, almost from the side, with one jaw behind the badge, the other on the exposed face and carefully lever the badge off, working one side a little then the other. The pins are pressed fit into the bushings, but the badge will come off. Take your time and go slow.
The thing I like about this method, is even if you nick the paint, you can touch it up right away and the damage is behind the badge.
