You mean a Turbo-X? Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Wed, 19 Jun 2013 11:58:49 In Reply to: any thoughts on a 2008 9-3X ?, davids [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 18 Jun 2013 17:53:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The 9-3X is an "off road" variant of the 9-3 SportCombi that showed up in 2010.
The Turbo-X is a limited production model of the 2008 9-3 sedan and sportcombi with the 2.8t V6 and the first Saab to feature XWD. There were 600 brought to the US. I just bought one in March and it has already been in to the dealer to have the front transfer case and "propeller" shaft replaced to the tune of $4,681. Praise Jebus it was covered under the last sliver of GM PowerTrain warranty remaining. They're fun cars. Fast, sexy as hell, and the exhaust note is gorgeous, but if I didn't have an EXTENSIVE aftermarket warranty on mine I'd probably lose some sleep at night waiting for something in the very intricate and pretty fragile AWD system to go awry. Parts seem to be available, and I am lucky in that the last remaining Saab service center in Connecticut is 1.8 miles from my house.
