So the button on the rubber casing has come off but the small button on the circuit board is still in good shape? May be able to simply buy a used key shell from ebay or check with your local Saab independent if they have an extra shell in good shape.
There are sellers on ebay who list new replacement key shells, last year I ordered and tried a couple. They are knockoff Chinese replacements and pretty poor quality overall. None came with the Saab emblem, one wouldn't snap together properly (trashed), the printing on the buttons completely wore off within 2 months, and the cases are made of hard plastic not rubber, so the buttons are very difficult to press down.
Do you have a second key for your vehicle? If not, its a good time to get a new replacement programmed to your vehicle (see Saab dealer or Saab Indy shop). This allows you to keep your existing as a good working backup "in case" and use the new transponder as your daily use fob.
