I have a 2009 SportCombi that I bought new in May 2009. Mine is a 6-speed manual.
2009 (not 2008) was the only year that BlueTooth was offered as standard equipment. If you get an 2009, try to get a owner's manual with it. It's easy to program, as long as you follow the instructions in the manual.
There were a couple of cosmetic changes (that I know of), that I believe were made in 2008: The headlights are different - they're not trapezoidal, the back of the lens comes to a point (I personally like this better,) Also, I believe the pre-2008's had a display "pod" that rose up from the middle of the dashboard. Mine doesn't have that.
Mileage wise, I've heard people on this board saying they get well over 30 mph. I average 24-25 in mainly city driving. I haven't make many long highway trips with it, but on the couple I have made, I averaged about 32 mpg. The Window sticker says it's rated from 19-29, so i'm not complaining.
In 4 1/2 years, I've never had any mechanical problems.
If you have a choice, I'd go for a 2009, strictly because of free BlueTooth.
Good Luck!
Mike,
