Floating caliper in the sense that the caliper slides inboard as the pads wear out. So when you put in fresh (thicker) pads, the caliper sits a few mm farther outboard and maybe rubs against the spokes of the rim.
Still, it's pretty easy to push the caliper outboard like that when you're test-fitting the wheel.
