Unfortunately it comes to a point where I could guess all day long but it would only be a guess and the people looking at the car would know more than me anyway.
Yes, it could be a failed tensioner and that the chain is flopping in the wind but that also doesn't perfectly fit the pattern when the noise goes away at certain times.
All depending on the interest of the mechanic looking at it and his or the shops agenda in how they do business, all is a guess and it comes down to where and how the noise is located and how it comes and goes.
Sorry, but it is only so much that can be done over the internet.
