Not sure how many of you actually have the 2007-2011 Navigation in your cars, but chances are likely it's not working anymore if you do. Mine was giving me a "Map DVD rear error" and wouldn't even eject the disc, so it froze all the time, rebooted in the middle of driving, etc. BBA wanted something astronomical like $650 to repair it.
So in my searches I stumbled upon the website of a company called Rive, Inc. They're in CA and do all sorts of automotive electronics repair. They didn't have a Saab page but the unit is pretty similar to the one in the Chevy Tahoe so I gave them a call. Robert was a really nice guy and totally willing to take on the job. Turns out the insides a different from the Chevy units but the DVD drive is the same so he was able to replace the offending parts. He couldn't bench test it because Saab built in that marriage/divorce security feature, but I got it back and it works like new! With expedited shipping from Connecticut I paid about $350 total. It's a dated system but it's totally worth getting it working again, in my opinion.
