traction/stability control failure FINAL UPDATE, I hope

Hey Everyone:
For posterity, I am giving the last update (I hope). So, as I was driving, the car gave way and had to be towed (only time she has done that except for the run in with the coyote and that wasn't the car's fault). The dealer changed the aforesaid module and the car still wouldn't start. After days of intellectual and mechanical rigor, alas, the culprit was found.
What had happened was a certain wire (I have no idea which one) had split inside the wiring harness. It was literally a single wire (red or pink in color) and was some type of a power source to the ECM. Seems like the mechanic said there were 6 power sources and this one carried maybe 3 or 5 volts. Anyhow, the wire was changed and the car runs once again, like a dream!
The maintained through it all if it in fact was the ABS module, it would be the first one they have ever seen go bad on a 9-3 2.0 and they were correct. So, if anyone is encountered with this problem, maybe this would be another place to start. And I have to give a shout out to the dealer in Knoxville, they are awesome people and do a great job for sure.
Best,
BenR
