Oil change once year, whick = 4-5,000 miles...

I am a low mileage driver and I have used the 5K/1 year rule on all my cars. Typically that means 5,000 miles or so between oil changes.
I use full synthetic oil and have not had any oil related issues.
The 2005 9-3 Aero CVT is driven 10 miles each way to work in moderate city traffic. The Saab oil life monitor shows 50% when the oil is changed at 1 year (approximately 5,000-mies).
That said, a quality synthetic motor oil should be good for 10k/1 year, especially with some highway usage. If I drove that far each year, I would follow a 10K oil change schedule.
