The V6 is known to be a robust engine with regular synthetic oil changes. Without, you run the risk of killing the turbo. A relative thirsty engine compared to the Saab 4-cyls, but with significant tuning potential. It's a big engine in a small engine compartment, so there's significant heat accumulation. Plastic parts get brittle, batteries have a limited lifespan (like in other Saabs too), and coils go bad. Like pete said, the ones in the back near the firewall are difficult to get to. Most people leave them to their mechanics/dealers, some people report it can be DIY if you're handy and patient.
