So easy that I thought maybe the pop was something else. My guess is that the PB blast sprayed on yesterday did the trick. Now I am waiting for the USPS package person to deliver the part. This person stops their route when they get tired and won't always empty the truck each day.

I hope my new rack won't be held hostage by the USPS until tomorrow.

The old rack broke at a second joint as I was removing it from the car. Not even being rough with the old used part. Clearly completely worn out. This car has been garaged from day one and never had ice bind the wipers to the windshield.
