Leaking convertible top Posted by Thor Carlson [Email] (#1846) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Thor Carlson) on Sat, 3 Dec 2016 08:39:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Our 2006 9-3 convertible top (127k miles) continues to be a problem. During this week's heavy NJ rain, the back seat floors were saturated and the driver's seat belt (in the seatback, not the B pillar) was wet.
We see water dripping inside the driver's door window at the hinge that bends when the roof lowers. We also see drips on the passenger side.
Earlier this year we did a Ragg Topp treatment which may have been helpful but we didn't get very much rain this year so it's hard to tell.
This week after a heavy rain when starting to move we heard a whoosh, as though the rain had puddled up somewhere while parked. The car is normally parked on an incline at home and on the level at work. The problem may be less on an incline than on the level.
Are these convertibles expected to be water tight against heavy rain? Thoughts?
