If an individual sensor fails it will not reset. Otherwise the tire TPS resets after a short distance of driving. This happens after having new tires installed. Discount Tire can identify the individual tire which has the problem. The TPS control module (computer) will behave like this before it fails. I had the TPS control module serviced but not replaced by a Saab Service Center and left with no problem. After driving on Interstate 4 for several miles we decided to stop and eat. As soon as we hit a pot hole in the restaurant parking lot that was it. TPS was out for good. Went back to the service center and confirmed the control module required replacement. Manually measured the tire pressures which were good. The TPS module communicates with the ECM. Before the TPS module was replaced we got a number of strange warnings including the entire dash going momentarily blank while driving on the freeway. Everything resolved after the TPS module was replaced. Otherwise with all the warnings and all the controls going black we would have had to juke the 9-3 XWD. However, the car drove just fine.
