* When replacing the rear shocks, the upper shock bushing should be replaced with the shock.
* To replace the sub-frame bushings, you'll need the tooling to press the old units out and the new in. This process will require the rear sub-frame to be separated from the chassis (requiring a support frame).
* The trailing arm bushings will also require tooling for removal/ replacement.
* Sway-bar end links are best replaced with the coil springs removed.
My 2006 SS had two issues: a squeaking noise when the suspension would un-weight during driveway entry/exit and it wouldn't hold an alignment, so I recently updated the rear suspension with all bushings and ball joints (the sub-frame and trailing arm bushings will be replaced later). There is a huge difference in the drivability of the car and... no more squeaking. After 10+ years and more than 125K on the rubber parts, they were in need of replacement due to the hardening process of age. Check the bushings on your SC for signs of cracks and you'll probably recognize some that could use replacement.
Like you, I want to drive my SS for another decade and updating the rear suspension made my car feel new again.
