For some time now when I leave work the engine will jump immediately to 1500 rpm when I start the car. After about 15-20 seconds it idles back down to normal (around 800 rpm). Does not do this after it is warmed up.

External temps seem to have nothing to do with it. Has done it since summer when it was hot out and still doing it now when much cooler.

Any ideas on what to look for? No engine codes showing up.
