HELP! Convertible top stuck Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Sun, 3 May 2020 18:40:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2010 9/3 Convertble, 160K miles.
The convertible top is down (so the car is open-air), and the tonneau top is in its up-and-to-the-rear position (so it is hovering over the trunk).
It is at this point that the car's dash tells me, "Only manual operation possible."
Some of you are already anticipating my problem: Step 1 in manual operation is to open the trunk, both to retrieve the necessary tools, and also to release the retention springs that hold the roof down, so it can be raised. But with the tonneau cover in the up and back position, the trunk can't be opened. (And this is not one of the models whose back seat can be flipped forward for trunk access.)
At least it's not raining...yet.
How do I get the tonneau cover to move forward so that I can get into the trunk and manually close the top?
Thanks!
