Hello,
Could be many things. Unfortunately using a tech 2 to scan the car is really needed to properly diagnose. But it does sound like several issues and the battery is part of everything so it couldn't hurt to change it. 4 years is a long time for 9-3. The 12.5 volts at rest is a good start but really you need a load test to know the health of the battery. So 12.5 volts does not prove it is healthy battery just that it might be. Good Luck, Bernie
