rear window leak into footwell Posted by Gator Ray [Email] (#1044) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gator Ray) on Sun, 2 Aug 2020 16:07:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2008 9-3 Aero...after having the R/R door replaced at Dorschel Collision in Rochester, NY (couldn't help stating the company name) one year ago, it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I noticed a substantial puddle in the right rear passenger foot well carpet after a rain. I usually don't open that door, but I happened to have put groceries on the seat and floor and noticed it. Obviously concerned, I sprayed water from a garden hose and noticed more water trickling down/over the foot well seal. Digging deeper, I removed the inner door panel I again ran water over the outside window seal and found water coming out of the water/vapor barrier at the bottom of the door. I then removed the water/vapor barrier and ran water on the outside the same way and observed water dripping ONTO the regulator from above, and then into the foot well.
I can't imaging any scenario where water dripping onto the regulator is a good thing, so that is very concerning. I checked the weep holes in the bottom of the door and they are not obstructed. I've attempted to correct this debacle by replacing the outside window seal and the water/vapor barrier, and still have water coming into the foot well.
Sorry for the long post but I am ready to admit myself :(
What am I missing?
