Hi All,

So, I resolved to keep my 2010 9-3 SS with 91K mi for a few more years, at least. It will definitely need new tires in the next few months and that has me thinking about the sensors that are now 11 yrs old!

My thinking was to buy 4 sensors and take them with me to the tire place when I get the new tires done. Not sure how willing they would be to do that with sensors I supply. May vary by shop I suppose. Seems crazy not to do them during the new tire install. Would most places try to sell me their sensors? Anybody had any luck with that?

Is there any downside to simply ignoring any TPMS failures if they do occur. I am in NY and at the moment it isn't clear to me if a TPMS malfunction will fail the state inspection.

I can see value of course in having it functional. Just don't want to blow the bank. Rock Auto seems to have them for about $25 each. I can swing that no problem.

Thoughts, experiences?
