Follow up to original post, three years later...Thanks to both Justin who recommended the AC Delco (GM) water pump and OldMaintenanceMan who suggested the AC Delco pump kit 93280001 from e-SAAB parts.
The source of original water pump leak was determined to be the water pump gasket by my mechanic--coolant residue tracks verified coming from pump gasket. The entire project included replacing water pump and gasket, housing gasket, heater hoses and gaskets and some o-rings (in kit, but I forgot where those puppies went).
So, about two years after this repair, the car started losing coolant very slowly. No drips, residue or puddles visible anywhere. I'd like to assume it's NOT the water pump gasket or housing gasket. OldMaintenanceMan mentioned the thermostat housing a few years back as a potential source for missing coolant such as this. I'd prefer NOT to replace a perfectly good thermostat, but the leak has got to go.
Anyone out there been there, done that? Thanks!
