Saab 2008 9-3 Passenger Window Regulator and motor woes...

Saab 2008 9-3. Passenger side door/regulator failed. Ordered a replacement regulator, used. Saab folks. No prob. Regulator arrived, motor won’t fit the holes.
So after some studying and talking, learned the regulator changed on the passenger side between 2008-2009, or was it 2007-2008. Anyway, ordered another regulator, new, for the year, model. Thinking the used one was simply caught up in a mix up that I didn’t care to unravel.
It too does not line up with the holes for the existing motor even tho it is for the specific year, model.
Yes, wondered if this regulator had been replaced at some point (me second owner) and has taken it out of OEM parts.
So now my question is… what would you do? Order an entire 2008 regulator AND motor and just eat the costs? Or anyone know of a way to decrypt the above info, as in… I don’t know. I have two regulators, both for a 2008 9-3, and neither will permit the existing motor to bolt in.
Just looking for ideas that I am obviously not thinking of… easiest one being ordering the entire unit and motor and trust it will work. In which case, anyone need a regulator for, um, therein lies my problem… what do I have?
Tis a quandary yes?
