New fun and exciting issue has come up on my TX. 65K miles, manual. New correct front Saab rotors and pads installed. Had purchased one of the last few original Saab kits a while back.
Also replaced both front wheel bearings at the same time with FAG units and new dust shields.
Tires were rotated front to back and the left front axle was also replaced at the same time.
Left side fine. No issues at all.
Right side is now clicking and then grinding which gets louder as the pressure is applied on the pedal. Noise then becomes a creak just before the revolution of the wheel and anything else that is rotating stops.
My Saab tech tried another FAG bearing which made no difference so swapped back out.
Next was a new correct caliper from Orio (caliper only, not the carrier piece that the one pad fits in to) as the rebuild kits are NLA here in the states. No difference so swapping the old caliper back in.
Looking for any advice as my tech is at a loss as to what could be causing the issue.
Only items NOT replaced on the side before noises started are…
-axle or any ancillary part where the wheel bearing/hub bolts in to
-caliper carrier
-lug nuts
Have to say the tech/owner Eric is trying his best to get to the bottom of the issue and not nailing me on repeat labor or parts that aren’t solving the problem so a big shout out to Viking!
It’s just we are both getting frustrated that maybe we are not seeing the trees through the forest on this one.
Thanks a bunch to anyone who replies….
Darren
