Screeching sound when turbo needle touch the red line Posted by Michel_DDO [Email] (#2328) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Michel_DDO) on Thu, 2 Jun 2022 17:14:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am looking at a SAAB 93 2L 2007 auto 170 000km
When driving the car everything is ok but when I press hard on the pedal, as soon the needle in the turbo gauge hit the red line the car is making a screeching noise. It doesn't go into the red zone. I didn't notice if there was a boost as the car was going pretty fast in a residential area. As soon as you release the pedal the noise is gone.
I parked the car and opened the hood. I pressed the pedal pretty hard and there was no sound coming from the belt/pulley area.
I am thinking about a turbo bearing. Do you think it could be the wastegate valve?
I forgot to bring my ODB reader :-(
Thanks!
Michel
