Emissions Fuel Tank Pressure Observations Posted by Dana [Email] |
Referring to the 9-3 NG Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor, Part No. 16238399 (GM)
The original WIS and the newer V2 appears to have some latent errors concerning the tank pressure Sensor differential pressure data, sensor part GM 16238399. 2006/2007 SAAB 93 2.0T, maybe for other models
The WIS CHART of voltage vs pressure is correct, the TABLE of voltage vs. Pressure appears to be not correct. the two have conflicting information
At pin 11 (violet color wire) on ECU connector A, I see the following...
-3.7 kPa differential (vacuum) .... 4.5 VDC
0 kPa differential (atmosphere).........1.5 VDC
1.2 kPa differential (positive pressure).......0.5 VDC
Also the pin out for the sensor is the standard Pin A (gnd), Pin B (signal), Pin C (+% VDC)
At the ECU connector "A", +5VDC is pin 43, Signal is Pin 11, Gnd is pin 32 for my 2006/2007 2.0T
With my NG 93 2.0T SAABs I have noted normal operational of -140 Pa to -170Pa with Tech2, or about 1.62V sensor voltage
I have had -370 Pa or 1.8V trigger the CEL as too low a vacuum pressure. I would strongly recommend testing the sensor at 0 kPa (atmosphere) before putting a replacement into the car for the 1.5 VDC value. I have seen some "new" parts with 2.5 VDC at o kPa.
New parts are sometimes faulty.
