Looking at the owner's manual here, there doesn't appear to be any towing capacity limits for the convertible that are different than the combi or sedan.
Per the MY 2004 owner's manual from my convertible, max towing capacity is 3500# with trailer brakes, 1000# without, and recommended tow ball load of 110-165 pounds. I'm running the Curt class 1-ish setup with the Saab accessory control module and wiring harness in my '08 Combi.
When I've rented U-Haul trailers to pull behind my Combi, they've had no issues renting flat and medium-sized cargo trailers to me, and they seem to think that I can tow up to 2000 pounds. Both times I've done so I've probably come close to hitting that max total weight, between trailer and the load. Mileage took a hit, to be expected--13-17 mpg is what I've gotten when towing at highway speeds.
