Hello all, I recently purchased a 2003 9-3 ARC 2.0T and I need some help.

I knew the car had a cim issue upon purchase and upon further inspection it appears that the steering wheel lock was cut or disabled in some way in order to move the car, now the main issue I'm having is the new CIM I have is refusing to marry to the car, now is this caused by the steering wheel lock being disabled? and if I were to repair the steering wheel lock would the cim pair to the car? or is the immobilizer system shot? any and all advice welcome and I have a techII(copy but a good one) and an older 32bit computer with GlobalITIS software
