I forgot to mention that, as the buckle seems to be the problem, you could always try a used buckle if your car has already had the recall done or the recall part is no longer available. Part no. 12802232. That same buckle was used in the convertible from 2004-2011. First make sure something didn’t fall into the buckle or some liquid wasn’t spilled into it, in which case a cleaning might help.
