The sticker says SAAB recommends Genuine SAAB or Mobil 1 oils. Why wouldn't SAAB recommend their own oil? That would be taking money out of their pockets.
Its all marketing. Mobil pays SAAB for them to use Mobil 1 oils. Castrol pays Audi and BMW to use their oils. There are about seven different oils that meet the GM-LL-025-A spec in Europe. We only have two to choose from here in the US. You don't even have to use these oils if you plan to change your oil at 3,000 or 5,000. The LL spec is just that. It is meant to stay in its viscosity range for the 15,000 mile oil intervals that SAAB recommends for the SS. I have used Mobil 1 for 13 years now. I never had a problem with their oil. I will continue to use them. I might use the new Mobil 1 0W-30R next oil change. I doubt it will have the GM spec on it, but I change my oil every 3,000 miles.
