I purchased my Saab while in Germany, and they only recognized the standard German warranty period, which was 12 months. However, I found my Saab dealer (Wiesbaden Saab Zentrum) to be excellent in every way. It did help that my wife speaks German when we needed to talk directly with with the mechanic who worked on my car. On an additional note, I enjoyed my Saab more in Europe than here in the US because I could more fully use its capabilities, particularly on the autobahn. You will find it to be a different car while cruising at 100+ MPH. It really was built to be driven at high speed. I do recommend a set of speed rated winter tires. If the Germans are changing tires in the spring and the fall, you need to be changing tires as well. My Saab had winter tires while my Acura had all seasons. There is a world of difference in traction. I digress because I loved driving in Europe in a car that was meant for it. Saab parts are available, cost is not too horrendous, and I found German mechanics to be well trained and very good at what they do. Pay attention to the right of way and you'll have a good time!
