I installed my XM at least 4 months ago and I did not cut any wires - maybe I am not sure what you are trying to do... Are you trying to use the SAAB antenna as an XM antenna? I hope not, because that won't work very well (if at all). Are you trying to use adapters to splice into the SAAB antenna so that you can use an FM modulator? I hope so, because I have talked with SAAB USA, and we are pretty sure that's the only way XM will work in our cars. Assuming that is what you are trying to do, you need the European car adapters (like someone mentioned VW, but ask for new BMW like I did). The best place to get at a connection is the radio control unit, which is behind the HVAC panel. You pull all of the stuff towards the shifter (hope you have a manual! automatics can be a really tight fit) and unplug the antenna from the back. Best place to get power is the console storage cigarette lighter as the in-dash one is much harder to see.
I think you are taking a real leap of faith letting Best Buy install it, if they unplug one of the modules on the BUS and power up the vehicle you are screwed... the car probably won't start. I did it myself and I swear it was not that hard. If you like (or need references), you can see pictures of my setup at the link below.
Good Luck!
