Theres a few threads on this. My 6 speed has the problem. I drove a 5 speed and its fine. Saab will deny there is any problem until confronted.

The final admission from them was that the 6 speed is made by GM Europs and the 5 Speed by Saab. They have had a tough time getting it fixed.
The SI from late last year doesn't do anything as far as I can tell, except maybe for Saabs Auditors!

Saab Customer care says they now have a modified design in Sweden that fixes the problem. They claim this will address it once and for all. The dealer had trouble ordering it so we'll see. I'm hoping they are not just going to swap for the same tranny to try and find a better one!

This will be the 4th trip into the dealer with the same problem and on the West Coast that means they get to buy the car back if it's not fixed.

Great car, I just wish Saab would be a bit more honest from the outset. I think everyone knows there is a problem here!
