I have an '03 Arc and it had the same problem. It started almost immediately after I bought it last May. They tried to "reprogram" it, but that effort failed. They eventually replaced the wind deflector and the problem was resolved.
If your's is like mine, the deflector is binding while the sunroof goes over it. The sunroof, somewhat like a garage door safety feature, senses the obstruction and retracts. I'm almost positive a new wind deflector is your cure as well.
BTW, I'm the one who asked about spoiler colors a month or so back on this site. You advised painting it to match the color of my car (I asked if folks thought painting it black would be kind of retro-cool, as they used to be black, regardless of car color. Anyway, I'm having the larger spoiler, in silver to match, installed today.
