I'd rather drive the 9-5, or a 2004 or newer 9-3 than my 1999 9-3. They DO feel less "SAAB" but in some cases, that's a good thing. I love the way the newer Saabs behave on the road on a daily basis. Maybe it just comes down to they're just more predictable; who knows.
Steeleye is right, though, in that you CAN tell the GM influence in the newer ones. I LOVE what they did with the 9-2x though. Too bad it doesn't have the Viggen 2.3 engine.
