I recently had my 1999 93SE 90,000 mi service performed at the dealer at 91,000. I have been using the dealer since I bought the car Saab certified at 31,000 mi.
90,000 mi is "major" service interval at dealer
You can certainly go to a reliable indy for any maintenanace.
Every 30,000 miles, and now especially when you reach 93,000, (no matter who does it) Important things to have done at this mileage: Fuel filter repl, oil filter repl/oil change, air filter replace, cabin air filter replace, new plugs, throttle body service, check brakes/replace brake fluid, drain & flush cooling system, check/top off all other fluids, trans check/service, 4 wheel alignment, roate tires (if not done in last 5000 miles or so, check drive belt for wear/replace. These are all routine and listed on the service brochure
If you do not have any noticeable oil leakage around head gasket, there is probably nothing else you need to do at this mileage. Also, the DI cassette is know to fail (mine did at about 60,000 miles).
The turbo system is designed to run "for the life of the car" but I do not know what this really means.
My car is running like when I bought it (actually better/faster since I had a factory sport exhaust installed).
When I go to Jiffy Lube, I use Valvoline Max or Mobil One. I do not think synthetic oil is needed, however. Dealer uses standard Quaker State.
Hope this helps
Good luck!
