Am I the only one who remembers that the advent of the 3k oil change interval came with the start-up of all the instant oil change places? Sure, you'll never hurt anything with frequent changes, and short-interval heavy traffic driving warrants more frequent changes. Myself, I'm a 5k change guy. With previous Saabs I went 10k on M1, but changed the filter only every 5k. Syn-oil won't break down, so changing the filter more often tends to keep the junk out. I know of heavy duty over-the-road trucks that run M1 and NEVER change the oil! Just change the filters. Got any idea what a 425 hp Cat diesel costs?!?
...just my .02 worth guys!
