Transmission Problem?

I have a 2003 Linear automatic w/ 37K miles. It is my wife's car, so I don't drive it often. On a recent trip I noticed an occasional "stall" at about 30 mph. But it is not an engine stall as I see the tach jump up about 500 rpm. It lasts just a second or two and only happened four times in a 600 mile trip. I plan to take the car to the selling dealer, but am wondering if anyone else has had this problem, which seems to me to be a slipping tranny. Thanks for any insights you can provide.
