What is that supposed to mean?
I do my all repairs and maintenance and enjoy it. I am proud of saving money doing it. I did an engine swap, 2 clutch replacements, 3 starters, 3 alternators, 2 waterpumps, 3 thermostats, 3 timing belts and so on in the last 10 years. My current car has 240k miles and still going strong.
I switch to snow tires and back on two cars in spring and fall and do my own rotations. I never had a problem tightening lug nuts the way I described it - that is why I gave such advice. And yes, I do have two torque wrenches and three jacks in my garage to be used when needed.
You mentioned my "loosing the only key to this car is no big deal" post. What I meant is that it will cost you $100 for a TWICE computer from a junk yard but not $1200+ as everyone else is saying. I believe this information is much more valuable for this board then advice on how to clean brake dust from alloy wheels using Q-tips.
