Hi all,

After being convinced by this board to get a 9-5 wagon instead of a Volvo V70 (http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/index.html?bID=103723), and after a lot of shopping around, we went back to the local Saab dealer today. They have a 9-5 Arc wagon demo with about 3700 miles on it, and are willing to give us an additional $2000 demo discount above the other discounts that would apply to a new Saab. The salesperson didn't know how old the car actually was besides that it was more than 4 months old".

1. Does an additional $2000 off seem like a reasonable discount for a 4+ month old, 3700 miles dealer demo? Edmunds.com estimates the first year depreciation on a 9-5 Arc wagon at $10,755, which prorates it at $3585 over a 4 month period.

2. The other thing that puzzled me was that the sales person told us the oil change interval was 15,000 miles (!) if we did it at the dealership, and the reason that the interval change was so long was because they used synthetic oil. Is this really what Saab recommends?
