The answer to performance in the snow is really a function of the tires, not the car. The Aero typically has high performance summer tires on 17" wheels, so you definitely need to get dedicated winter tires on 16" wheels. With those, the car is fantastic in the snow and as you will read elsewhere on this board, you will be driving circles around just about everyone else. I always had all season tires on previous Saabs and didn't realize what I was missing until I was forced to get dedicated winter tires on my Aero. Now I wouldn't have it any other way. You get the best of both worlds, a sports car in the summer and a lean, mean, snow machine in the winter! Check your local dealer, they sell a nice package (typically in late October), alloy wheels with mounted snow tires for about $900.
