Have the identical symptoms on my wife's 2000 9-5 wagon. Started with the warning icons for the ABS, TCS and brakes, soon added the engine warning icon (kind of a sideways representation of an engine) and the "bing-bong" alert.

Took the car into the dealer a couple days later. The initial diagnosis was bad ABS/TCM computer - a whopping $2500 for the part and another $250 or so to install. Both the service manager and the tech working on the car felt that it was equally likely that one of the sensors or connectors involved was the source of the problem, based on the rarity of the ABS/TCM computer failing. They were also able to clear the error codes and get the car to work normally after the master tech went over every connector in the ABS/TCS system to check for a bad connection, etc.

When we picked up the car, upon starting it up the problems all returned. The service manager suggested that before we do anything drastic, to drive the car for a few days to see what might happen. Well, about 50% of the time there are no error codes and no warning icons save the little sideways engine thing, which I guess stays on until cleared whenever a failure code is recorded.

The other 50% of the time, we're back to the light show and no speedo function.

Anyone out there have any more insight into this problem? I sure would hate to spend that kind of money if all that's wrong is a bad sensor somewhere.
