I bought my 01 SE wagon used 6 weeks ago and have 1 more week on my warranty. Overall I love the car and most of the problems are somewhat minor, except the last 2. It has 47k miles and here is what I found so far which is being repaired courtesy of Saab:
window roller -- squeaks when rolling down
side mirror reverse turn-down fix -- doesn't work
front/rear badge -- enamel chipping off
anti-sway bar bushing -- squeaks on dips
A/C expansion valve line -- strong vibration when turned off
ECU update -- a few times the car stalled out after starting when cold. I was told this may be the problem
Is there anything else I should add to the grocery list of repairs while they're at it?
The only issue yet to be resolved (that is if the stalling is fixed) is an odd vibration/wobble over 65 mph. It feels like the tire is out of balance however I am almost certain that is not it. The tires were balance with a Road Force system (I was told this is the latest in balancers) then rebalance then I took it back again. They calibrated the machine after each tire and side the rims were good and the tire balances out perfect. Still vibrates. "Bad tire", I thought. I then took in my 16" wheels and had them mount and balance the same model tire. Even with a different set of wheels and tires it still vibrates. It feels like you're going over washboard bumps, like a rear tire is hopping. It may stop for a few seconds then come back. Doesn't matter if you are in gear or not. The smoother the road the worse it is. Of course the Saab dealer will start with balancing the tires. They said the suspension looks good (no leaks) and the bearings are fine -- 2 things I read on this site. They said if that isn't it, they may need the car for a while -- great. Any thoughts?
