Just happened to the wife's 2000 9-5 wagon. It's actually the ABS/TCS computer and associated ABS hydraulic unit. There are a bunch of posts related to this problem - search on "dash" or "ABS".
Apparently, if you are the original purchaser of the 9-5 as a new car, and if you are lucky, Saab national may pay for the part in full, even with a SLIGHTLY out of warranty vehicle. At 90K, I doubt it.
If, like us, you bought the vehicle as a used car, with relatively low mileage then Saab may or may not want to help you out. I see that you are a multiple Saab owner - this may also help. At 58K and out of warranty, Saab was nice enough to pay for half of the parts bill for us. Still a big repair bill, though, considering the 3 hours of labor required. FWIW, the local dealer said they had never replaced one of these things before.
By all means, call Saab national and ask them to open a file on your problem.
The common wisdom on the board is that it's the computer that fails, and Saab should sell just the computer w/o the new hydraulic unit. I think I read here that you can buy a used computer from third party suppliers.
