appears to have been redesigned to have more structural integrity. Saab, as most of you know, does track fatal accidents in Sweden and if redesign is called for in improving rear end safety they will accomplish same. No other reason for the ridge that I can think of. Also, with the change in all rear end lights on European cars I suspect that new lighting laws have come into affect. Perhaps one of our knowlegable European members can talk to this. Pedestrian safety will affect the front end appearance on new cars based on new European requirements.
