My wife's 2002 Aero was hit from the rear and has $15K in damage. I have it at the body shop I used to work at 18 years ago. The same guy is running it and they do a very good job. I am guardedly optimistic about the outcome.
Yours is not so bad if;
1) They replace the hood, fender and door. There's no way they can repair that fender anyway.
2) The susupension or where it mounts to the car is not hurt.
I assume that the door will get a new skin and be repaired. That's OK I guess.
It's bad if;
1) They try and repair the hood, door, or if the unibody is bent. I would be hesitant about the structural integrity of the crumple protection after getting fixed too.
2) They have to repair the suspension. Have them take a very close look at the entire front end. Looks like they hit the wheel which means the suspension took a hit.
