I've noted that when the A/C is set to AUTO that the system will switch the outlet vents to the defroster outlets.
When this occurs the A/C immediately seems to become anemic.
By pressing the upper vent switch I get icy cold air again.
Otherwise I have no A/C problems on my 2002 9-5 Aero, even during the hottest days. Output is always fridgid cold.
The 9-5's insulation is also excellent.
I've walked away from a cool interior car for 8 hours, leaving it parked in a sweltering hot (98 degree plus) garage only to come back and find the interior still cold. Amazing.
