Vehicle is '99 9-5 (bought May 1,'98...VINxxxx582), 100k miles. Have had a S.T.A. message on my badly de-pixeled SID2 for several months. Dealer said test showed siren but big bucks to really fix so I have just been clearing the message and everything, including siren, worked just fine. Suddenly for last two nights siren has started going off at random intervals. I rush out in my PJs, avoid neighbours pots and pans and pull fuse #14. In AM, I start car, put #14 back so I can have AC,(nice combo, Saab), calibrate AC and off I go. At night, #14 comes out and the cycle repeats. For a bit of sport, I left #14 in overnight and.....lo!......no siren but in AM battery has been drained and car won't start so I'm back to plan A........can anyone offer a recommended course of action? Many thanks to anyone able to respond.
