Jeff - be careful with carfax. I use it as well, but only use it as a starting point. Try and find out where the original title(s) are/were held and call that state's DMV and check if the title(s) are clean. I was buying a beautiful aero last month, ran carfax and it came up clean as a whistle. I had actually written out the deposit check to the out-of-state dealer, when I decided to do one last check. I called Massachusetts, and the title showed that it was a flood vehicle! I guess carfax hadn't updated the status yet or whatever. Just a word to the wise - cover all your bases! Cheers.
