High outside temp = bad performance? Posted by Johnson [Email] (#3237) [Profile/Gallery]

For those of you who do not live in AZ it is hot here durring the summer, and I get the feeling that this heat affects the performance of my '99 9-5. In the mornings or in a cool evening, my car seems to be able to jump off the line and move like there is no tomorrow, but durring the day, when it is 110 outside, the car has no get up and go. I was taken at the light the other day by one of the old 3 cilinder subarus from like the 70s... I was wondering if the heat is directly related to this, and if so, what are some ways I can keep my perfomance even though it is hot outside. Also, the thermomiter in the car that tells you how hot it is outsiede seems to be about 3-7 degrees and even sometimes 10 degrees higer that real ouside temps. Does the car use this mesure at all to determin how much air to bring into the engine, is it affected by the incorrect reading on my car's outside air guage? Any thoughts would be great! Thanks guys!
